LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION LEAD - NASHUA, N.H.

Parker Garden Design is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Landscape Construction Lead to our premium class of customers in Southern N.H. and Northern Mass.

Essential job responsibilities:

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Reliable transportation to our shop in Litchfield, NH

  • Ability to maintain DOT Certificate

  • Proper grading and drainage

  • Installation of Hardscape Materials - concrete pavers, natural stone walls, natural stone patios, and natural stone stairs

  • Some planting installation, irrigation, and lighting a plus

  • Driving dump trucks with trailers

  • Operating heavy equipment, such as, skid steer and mini excavator

preferred qualifications

  • 3 plus years experience in running a crew on intricate projects including hardscapes, grading, drainage, with client communications

  • Proficient with all landscape construction equipment and operating dump truck and trailers.  DOT certificate

  • Self starter with problem solving skills and the ability to take an intricate job and run with it.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills with our team and clients.

Compensation package:

  • We do not do snow removal

  • $+/-30 hr. potential year-round salary for the right individual

The candidate will work directly under the supervision of our highly-experienced Planting and Maintenance Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge of plant materials, landscape installations, and general project management.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Planting and Maintenance Manager on daily task requirements and understanding upcoming projects

  • Communicate and work with clients that value the plant material and gardening services

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Fine gardening – conduct routine maintenance tasks which include weeding, pruning, edging, fertilization, and mulching

  • Perform spring and fall clean ups

  • Provide direct and clear communication with Manager on landscape issues and/or problems

  • Work in all weather conditions, such as, rain, snow, heat, and cold

  •  Prioritizing tasks assigned to you, and improving construction site workflow

  •  Professional attitude towards fellow employees, superiors, and clients

Requirements:

  • Current driver’s license

  • Ability to maintain DOT certification

  • 2-3 years of experience in the green industry with garden maintenance and pruning

  • Ability to lift 25-40 lbs.

  • Love of the outdoors, gardens, trees, and plants

  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Strong work ethic, dependable, and has problem solving skills

  • Strong background in horticulture is a plus, but not required

  • Heavy equipment; skid steer, mini excavator - experience a plus, not required

  • $25+ hr. based on experience
